Preparations for the Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea were promoted.
Meetings of the organizations of the WPK at all levels were held in December.
The works during the period under review were summed up in accordance with the idea and spirit of the Sixth Enlarged Meeting of the Seventh Central Committee of the WPK and the new leading organs elected.
The meetings elected the delegates to the Party Congress and recommended the observers.
Delegates to the Eighth Party Congress arrived in Pyongyang in late December and actual preparations were made for the congress.
They saw the documentaries including the "Great Leadership, Five Years of Victory and Changes" on the new history of changes made under the leadership of the Party.
The central photo, book and fine art exhibition opened at Korea National Art Museum in celebration of the Party Congress shows the immortal revolutionary records of the WPK and the heroic struggle of the Korean people.
