Many laudable deeds for the country and people are being performed by young people in the DPRK.
Kim Ju Ok grew up in a city and graduated from Haeju Jo Ok Hui Teachers Training College with honours, but she got a job as a primary grade teacher at a school on a remote island in the West Sea of Korea.
Though she could have applied for a place in a city school with good conditions and environment, she decided to volunteer as a teacher at the island school.
In recent years, not only Kim Ju Ok but also hundreds of other graduates of universities of education and teachers training colleges started out on their teaching career at branch schools on remote islets and in frontline areas and mountain villages.
Some young teachers even piggybacked disabled students to school for years to keep alive and realize their dreams of learning.
Among the girls who chose special-class disabled soldiers as their marriage partners to be admired by the public is Kim Jin Ok who works at the South Hwanghae provincial hydro-meteorological branch office.
One day Kim saw a young special-class disabled soldier in a wheelchair on her way home and helped him go back to his house safely, learning the fact that he saved other soldiers in an accident and got seriously wounded.
Afterwards, she frequently visited his house when she was free as well as on his birthday and holidays to aid his treatment and gave him some tonics and health foods. In those days, she decided to become his lifetime partner and married him.
A worker of the Namhung Youth Chemical Complex, a farmer in Kohyon-ri, Jongju City in North Phyongan Province, and a nurse at the hospital of the Taehung Youth Hero Mine also tied the knot with disabled soldiers with the blessings of many people.
Young people donated their blood and skin and even sacrificed their lives for society, the collective and comrades without hesitation and became grandchildren of the old people who have no supporters. Such laudable deeds of the young generations are commonplace in the DPRK society full of love and affection.
