In recent years, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has been making a number of scientific and technological successes for accelerating the economic development. The Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry has established a technology of producing germ- and dust-free uniform cloth with waste thread.
Here is Associate Professor and Master Ri Song Suk, Teacher of the Textile Engineering Faculty.
"It is very important to make the production processes germ- and dust-free in guaranteeing the quality of medicines and foodstuffs.
This time, our university has made a research for producing germ- and dust-free uniform cloth which is well ventilated and less dusty.
As compared with the general Tetron cloth, the germ- and dust-free uniform cloth we developed has very low surface resistance and good antibiosis, sucks up sweat well and is not attached by dust."
The developers solved different problems together with technicians of the Pyongyang Rayon Factory and thus completed the technology of producing new rayon.
The rayon they developed has good points as compared with the general one; when weaving cloth, there is no electrification or thread-snapping but it has good quality. It is said that they made several experiments with the cloth woven with new rayon and as a result, its dust-filtering efficiency and antibiosis were much higher than the imported cloth.
At present, the germ- and dust-free uniform based on the new technology is introduced into a number of pharmaceutical factories and foodstuff factories including the Pyongyang Pharmaceutical Factory, the Jongsong General Pharmaceutical Factory and the Oil General Health Drink Factory to make the production processes germ- and dust-free and ensure the hygienic security of the products.
Like this, the researchers have turned the wastes into treasure by establishing the practical and superior technology. Now they are further expanding their research findings.
