The 8th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea stressed the important need to produce more cereals than ever in fields which give a low yield of them and thus boost agricultural output.
In recent years Tokchon City has achieved a number of experiences in improving its farm work in its fields with a low yield of cereals. For example, the Hyongbong Cooperative Farm removed stones from its fields with a low yield of cereals, carpeted them with humus soil and intensively grew corns in their rich spots so as to augment their output more than three times than before. Above all, a member of the Unhung Cooperative Farm raised cereals with good care in his fields notorious for a low yield and turned out more than 10 tons of them per hectare. As a result, he proved in practice that no land was good or bad to a real farmer.
Now that they have studied the main ideas and spirit of the 8th congress hard officials bring about a fundamental change in their fighting spirit and work attitude.
They make primary efforts to map out and carry out a detailed plan to double the output of their organic compound manure as against last year for the present, extensively ameliorate their fields which suffer damages from cold and wet weather and blanket them with humus soil in a big way.
The officials of TC have bestirred themselves to implement the decisions of the 8th congress by all means. Through in-depth thoughts and discussions they adopt meticulous practical measures to reap bumper harvests in all their fields, including the rest of them which give a low yield of cereals.
