Pyongyang, February 20 (KCNA) -- Whether the on-going struggle for economic construction progresses, as planned and intended by the Party, or not hinges on how the economic guiding officials fulfill their responsibility and duty, says Rodong Sinmun Saturday in an editorial.
The economic guiding officials are duty-bound and obliged to live up to the trust reposed in them by the Party by making substantial change and progress in the work of their fields and units, the editorial notes, and goes on:
Let's map out a bold operation and make strenuous efforts to carry it out - this is what the revolution wants and the times call for.
All economic guiding officials, with a firm viewpoint that the national economy plan precisely means an order by the Party and state law, should work out detailed designs and meticulously organize operations to fulfill monthly and quarterly plans on all indices without fail.
They should regard it as their important task for implementing the 5-year plan to train men of talents, and carry it out in a planned way.
They should also scrupulously conduct their work on the principle of training the think-tanks necessary for their fields by their own efforts.
Out of an unshakable viewpoint that self-reliance is the only way to survive, they should work hard to revitalize production by solving all problems with their own efforts.
The editorial calls on all economic guiding officials to make tangible contributions to glorifying the first year of the new 5-year plan with a great victory by dynamically pushing ahead with the struggle for implementing the decisions of the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee through bold operations and strenuous practice.
