There took place a meeting of the workers of the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex on February 22 on the spot to vow to certainly carry out the first-year tasks of the five-year plan true to the spirit of the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Party.

Attending the meeting were O Su Yong, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Chung Gol, minister of Metallurgical Industry, Pak Chang Ho, chief secretary of the North Hwanghae Provincial Committee of the WPK, Im Hun, chairman of the provincial people's committee, and officials in the province and officials and employees of the complex.

Ri Song Chol, chief secretary of the party committee of the complex, made a report.

The speaker said that the workers of the complex are full of firm determination to repay the great trust of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who put forward them in the van of the struggle for implementing the decisions made at the 8th Congress of the Party, with increased steel production.

He referred to the fact that Kim Jong Un at the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Party indicated the clear orientation of the general advance of this year for firmly defending the dignity of the Party congress and bringing about practical results awaited and welcomed by the people at any cost by making a great stride forward from the first year of implementing the five-year plan.

He called upon the officials and workers of the complex to become a core and death-defying corps of the Party in carrying out the militant tasks set forth at the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Party.

He called for setting an innovative and detailed goal strictly based on the main idea and spirit of the plenary meeting and establishing revolutionary traits of implementing the monthly and quarterly plans without fail.

He stressed the need to give full play to the vitality of planned and scientific self-reliance by holding fast to science and technology as the key to the implementation of the Party policy and thus speeding up the technical remodeling and modernization of production processes and encouraging active recycling.

The reporter called for making a breakthrough in implementing the new five-year plan by surely attaining the goal of iron and steel production for this year advanced at the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee.
