Past Crimes Done by Japanese Imperialists against Korean Nation

Date: 23/02/2021 | Source: KCNA.kp (En) | Read original version at source

Pyongyang, February 23 (KCNA) -- It has been 117 years since the Japanese imperialists cooked up the illegal "Korea-Japan Protocol" on February 23, 1904.

The fabrication of the "protocol" was a part of the Japanese imperialists' scheme to occupy Korea by force of arms and totally colonize it.

Their sinister plan to concoct such aggressive document was begun before the outbreak of the Russo-Japanese War.

When they came to failure in their five months-long "diplomatic method" intended to make favorable conditions for the war by taking hold of the Korean feudal government, the Japanese imperialists ran amuck to conclude the "protocol" by force of arms.

They provoked the Russo-Japanese War and massively shipped their military forces under this pretext to drive the whole Korea into such plight little different from that under military occupation.

However, the draft "Korea-Japan Protocol" met with opposition from ministries of the Korean feudal government. Such being the case, the Japanese imperialists won those officials one by one to their side by means of bribery, appeasement, threat and blackmail to conclude the said fraudulent document in secrecy.

Through the aggressive document consisting of six articles, the Japanese imperialists legalized their military occupation of Korea, shackled it to the subordinate "alliance" and acquired their right to interference in Korea's internal affairs.

As seen above, the "Korea-Japan Protocol" was an unequal and aggressive treaty at all points aimed to impose heavy burdens for war upon the Korean people while using Korea as a theater of aggressive war and to lay a foundation for reducing Korea into their complete colony.

The Japanese imperialists could not but announce the conclusion of the "protocol" four days after, for fear of disclosure of the truth that it was made under coercion.

The historical facts show that the Japanese imperialists are the heinous aggressors who forced the bitter fate of being a ruined nation upon the Korean people by concocting the fraudulent document without any legal validity. -0-
