Pyongyang, February 23 (KCNA) -- An appeal to all the working people across the country was adopted at the meeting of the workers of the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex on Monday to vow to carry out the first-year tasks of the five-year plan without fail in hearty response to the spirit of the Second Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The appeal stressed that the great fighting programme set forth at the historic 2nd Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Party has stirred up the complex, adding the goals that seemed to be far from attainment got nearer and confidence and courage became stronger through the deep study of the idea and spirit of the plenary meeting.

The appeal said that the report made by the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un at the said plenary meeting expounds not only campaign goals but also policies and good methods for overcoming the manifold hardships most quickly and successfully making a turning-point in economic revitalization.

Saying that everything will go well as long as they are done as instructed by the respected General Secretary, the appeal evinced the steel-strong pledge of the working people of the complex.

It said that the production of iron and steel has to be doubled this year in comparison with last year, but the complex will attain this year's goal without fail by carrying forward the patriotism and loyalty displayed by the preceding generation while pushing forward with huge projects for expanding its production capacity.

In the appeal, the workers of the complex called on all the working people across the country to take an active part in the all-people and all-out onward campaign, death-defying campaign for defending the authority of the Party and glorifying the era of our state-first principle all over the world.

The time has come for us to give full play to the great might and abounding zeal for the sake of our Party, revolution and socialist country, the appeal said, calling for going all out for the implementation of the first-year tasks of the five-year plan advanced by the 8th Party Congress with great revolutionary enthusiasm and patriotism.

It called on the workers in the metal industry to ride the legendary Chollima once again with the heart of loyalty for the respected General Secretary, and on the workers in the chemical industry to redouble their efforts, bearing in mind that the people are waiting for home-produced fertilizer and chemical goods.

It appealed to the workers in the electrical power industry to generate a lot of electricity so as to make all the working sites of the country put production on normal track and increase the production nonstop, and to all the coal miners to increase the coal production with the zeal of loyalty and pure patriotic conscience in order to inject vitality into the advance of the country.

The workers of the railway transport field are appealed to responsibly ensure freight transport for different fields of the national economy just as how it was done despite hails of bullets and shells during the wartime.

The appeal called on the field of machine industry to put greater spurs to the drive of breaking through the cutting edge so as to churn out our machines to be proud of in the world.

The workers in the field of building-materials industry are called upon to create another myth of the DPRK in construction to startle the world people in all construction sites across the country including the construction sites for building 10,000 dwellings in Pyongyang.

The agricultural workers are appealed to become genuine loyalists and patriotic farmers safeguarding the Party and the revolution and defending socialism with increased rice production.

The appeal called on the workers of the light industry to make this year a year of substantial achievements in the home-production of goods and recycling and a year of a great turn to show the new appearance of our light industry after decisively eliminating the inclination to import.

It called on scientists and technicians to powerfully haul the general advance for a new victory by dint of self-reliance with intelligent brains and patriotism and loyalty.

The workers of the munitions industry are called upon to unconditionally attain the goals for the development of the national defence industry set forth at the 8th Congress of the Party with the same spirit, resourcefulness and stamina as those which have been displayed in putting the dignity and prestige of the country on the highest level in the nation's history spanning 5,000 years.

The appeal stressed the need for workers across the country to make a report of victory to the Party Central Committee by thoroughly carrying out the first-year tasks of the five-year plan advanced at the 8th Congress of the Party with full confidence and redoubled efforts, and to demonstrate all over the world the spirit and stamina of the heroic Korean working people who are symbolized as a hammer, sickle and writing brush on our Party flag.
