A meeting of chiefs of headquarters of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) for decisively improving the role of prefectural headquarters which are regional guidance units of the movement of Koreans in Japan in thoroughly implementing the decision of the fourth meeting of the 24th Chongryon Central Committee was held in the Korean Hall in Tokyo on March 9.
It was attended by Ho Jong Man, chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, Pak Ku Ho, first vice-chairman and director of its Organization Department, and vice-chairpersons, chairmen of the Finance Committee and the Central Audit Committee, members of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and chiefs of Chongryon headquarters.
The meeting discussed the issues arising in implementing the decision of the fourth meeting of the 24th Chongryon Central Committee.
Pak Ku Ho in his report referred to the matter of reorienting the building of Chongryon organizations into prioritizing branches.
The speakers pledged to carry on the historic struggle of this year undauntedly bearing in mind that to open a new period of upsurge and leap in the movement of Koreans in Japan is an honourable mission and duty assigned to the chiefs of headquarters.
At the meeting, the ten-point goals of the movement for setting an example of patriotism in a new heyday and the programmes for the campaign of “the year for strengthening branches of Chongryon” and the establishment of the work system for helping Chongryon branches were conveyed to the participants.
