Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) -- Spring tree-planting is in full swing across the country.
Officials and working people in different parts of the country have planted more than one hundred million trees in a matter of one month since the tree-planting started.
Officials of the General Bureau of Forestry under the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection and other officials in the field of forestry across the country have meticulously directed the tree-planting campaign under detailed daily and weekly plans suited to regional characters and species of trees.
Officials and working people in North Hwanghae Province planted trees in an area of more than 6 000 hectares.
Those in South Hamgyong Province have planted hundreds of thousands of trees of such species as chestnut, pine nut, Aronia melanocarpa and Larix lepolepis.
At least 10 million trees have been planted so far in South Phyongan Province. Similar successes are being made by officials and workers of other provinces who thoroughly observe the principle of planting the right tree in the right soil at the right time. -0-
