Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) -- Japan is getting impudent in its moves to seize Tok Island and distort history.

Tok Island is again termed "inalienable territorial part" of Japan in the textbooks for senior high schools approved by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan. Those textbooks will reportedly be used from 2022.

Among the approved textbooks, history, geography and social science textbooks describe Tok Island as "Japanese soil" illegally occupied by someone.

Japan has persisted in distorting history to seize the island, an inalienable territorial part of the Korean nation, but its current moves, unprecedentedly hideous, have gone beyond the red line, which should never be overlooked.

This proves that the Japanese reactionaries have reached the extremes in their sinister moves to instill the twisted outlook on history into the minds of the younger generations of Japan, train them to be militaristic maniacs with revanchism and the idea of aggression and thus create conditions and environment for meeting their thirsty for territorial expansion.

Japan's "claim to Tok Island" is sheer sophism without any legal grounds.

It is the undeniable truth of history that the island has been a territorial part of the Korean nation generation after generation.

Historical materials proving it are recently found one after another.

Moreover, there are many Japanese historical materials proving Japan didn't recognize the island as its territorial part. The island is not termed as Japanese soil in geography textbooks and maps published in Japan in the period between 19th to 20th century.

Nevertheless, Japan insists on its "dominium over Tok Island", hooliganism peculiar to the bandits disregarding history and international law.

The approval of the textbooks distorting history is the issue merely confined to education.

This is totally aimed to imbue the younger generations with the wrong idea that Tok Island is "usurped land", drive them to seize others' territory, occupy not only the island but also whole Korea and thus realize the wild ambition for launching continental invasion.

Now the Japanese reactionaries are desperately pursuing the militaristic wild ambition for reviving the past when it was crazy about continental expansion under the flag of the rising sun.

Japan is recorded in history as a country which persisted in lie, plunder and invasion of other countries.

The aggressor state and criminal nation, which inflicted untold misfortune and pain upon the Korean people, other peoples of Asia and the rest of the world, is seeking to deprive the Korean nation of its island by distorting history and resorting to reactionary education. This can never be pardoned.

Japan should bear in mind that its anachronistic historical distortion will lead it to final destruction.
