Pyongyang, April 16 (KCNA) -- A Japan-DPRK friendship seminar for commemorating the Day of the Sun (birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung) took place in Tokyo, Japan, on April 10.
Present at the seminar were delegates from solidarity organizations of Japan including Fumihiro Himori, chairman of the Japan Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea, personages of different circles, officials of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and Koreans in Kanto area.
Congratulatory speeches were made and a solidarity message from the Korean Society for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries was read out.
Lectures were given by Ri Pyong Hwi, a professor of Korean University, and Kim Ji Yong, chief editor of the Choson Sinbo Company, under the titles "On decisions made at the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea and tasks of Korean-style socialism" and "On foreign policy advanced at the 8th Congress of the Party".
Speeches were made there.
Speakers highly praised the invaluable exploits of President Kim Il Sung who provided the eternal foundations for socialist Korea prospering by dint of self-reliance and made immortal contributions to the independent reunification of Korea and the cause of global independence by indicating the path of the times with the great Juche idea.
They spoke highly of the extraordinary and outstanding leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who is wisely leading the cause of Juche by invariably carrying forward the idea and cause of the President.
They expressed their will to further the solidarity movement for actively supporting and encouraging the struggle of the Korean people who turned out as one to achieve a new victory of socialist construction, breaking through head-on all trials in the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance.
