Pyongyang, April 17 (KCNA) -- There took place finals of the Inter-Provincial Mass Sports Contest-2021 for celebrating the Day of the Sun (birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung) at Kim Il Sung Stadium on Thursday.
Watching the games were cadres of the Party and the government, chief secretaries of the provincial Party committees, members of the National Sports Guidance Committee, officials of the ministries, national institutions and armed forces organs and Pyongyang citizens.
The football finals between students of Pyongyang City Football School and North Hamgyong Provincial Football School were held.
The players of the two teams who had drawn attention of the professionals and fans with their good performance in the group league matches and semi-finals dynamically operated the games, making the most of the tactical intentions of their teams.
The Pyongyang City team beat the North Hamgyong Provincial team 3:1, taking the first place.
Tug-of-war games marked the climax of the contest.
Players of Pyongyang City and North Phyongan Province, who defeated all their rivals before advancing into the finals, displayed team cohesion and spirit with strong will and perseverance.
The spectators cheered their players in one mind.
The team of Pyongyang City won the games.
Cadres of the Party and the government gave pep talks to the players who performed well.
The contest served as the significant occasion making the more fervent sporting atmosphere pervade the whole country and arousing the people to implement the decisions made at the 8th Congress of the Party and the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Party.
