Pyongyang, April 22 (KCNA) -- The General Association of Koreans in China held events on April 15, the 109th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.
Laid at the statue of the President at Yuwen Middle School in Jilin were the floral baskets in the names of the General Association of Koreans in China, the Association of Korean Women in China, the Jilin City branch of the Jilin Province Regional Association, the family of Hwang Paek Ha, a China-resident Korean related to the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, and the family of Hong Yong Sun who is a vice-chairperson of the Jilin Province Regional Association.
Officials of the General Association of Koreans in China, the Federation of Korean Economic Workers in China, the Association of Korean Women in China and the Association of Young Korean Nationals in China, veterans of the Chinese People's Volunteers, family members of martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers and Koreans in China laid floral baskets before an art piece depicting President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il at the DPRK Consulate General in Shenyang before making a bow before it.
There took place a meeting of the General Association of Koreans in China in Shenyang, China.
Choe Su Bong, first vice chairman of the General Association of Koreans in China, in the report said that April 15, the birthday of President Kim Il Sung, is the day of great fortune when the Korean nation greeted the great sun of the people for the first time in its history spanning 5,000 years and the day of historic event when the world's progressive people greeted the dawn of the era of independence. He recalled the immortal exploits of the President for the country and the people, the times and history.
A letter to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.
Then there took place a film show and a banquet.
Meanwhile, the Yanbian Regional Association and its branches, the Zhongnan Regional Association and the Mudanjiang Regional Association of the General Association of Koreans in China held a ceremony of laying floral baskets and colorful events like celebration, film show and round-table talks.
