Pyongyang, May 3 (KCNA) -- In the DPRK, animation is beloved by children and schoolchildren as their dear educator and fellow.
Chairman Kim Jong Il in his talk with officials of the Information and Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) on May 1, Juche 60 (1971) indicated the tasks and methods in animation production needed for the education of children.
In June, 1972, the Chairman took measures for bringing about a revolutionary turn in producing animations and clarified the way to be followed by the field of animation production in the present era, while watching newly-made animations.
Animations based on fairy tales and apologues created by President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il have been produced into masterpieces conducive to the education of the rising generations.
And those helpful to acquiring common knowledge of basic science and cultivating noble mental and moral traits and those with historical themes added richness to the treasury of animation art.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un gave a field guidance to the Korea April 26 Animation Studio in November, 2014, which came to be a significant occasion in bringing about a fresh revolutionary turn in producing animations.
Now successes are also being witnessed in producing animations on the basis of latest technologies, along with the diversification of theme, form and technique of portrayal for the ages and psychological character of juveniles and emotions of our people. -0-
