February 16 Sci-Tech Prize Awarded, Best Scientists and Technicians of State for 2020 Chosen

Pyongyang, May 4 (KCNA) -- February 16 Science and Technology Prize and Scientific and Technological Innovation Prize have been conferred on scientific and technological achievements conducive to consolidating the independence and Juche character of the national economy, improving the people's standard of living and fully demonstrating the development of the Juche-oriented science.
Certificates and medals of the prizes have been conferred on more than 10 scientific and technological findings which substantially helped to further boost the foundations of the self-supporting economy, improve the people's standard of living and their health and develop the Juche-oriented science by powerfully propelling the development of various fields of the national economy such as metallurgical, electrical power and coal industries.
Certificates went to scientists, technicians and officials of the units who undertook major projects, including Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, Hamhung University of Hydraulic Engineering, Pyongyang University of Publishing and Printing, Mathematics Research Institute of the State Academy of Sciences, the Mechanical Engineering Institute, the Rice Research Institute of the Academy of Agricultural Science, the Tumour Institute of the Academy of Medical Science, the Pyongyang Thermal Power Plant and Pyongyang Wheat Flour Processing Factory.
Chae Yong Chol, section chief of Hamhung University of Hydraulic Engineering, Im Song Jin, section chief of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Kwang Ho, section chief of the State Academy of Sciences, and Mun Myong Chol, section chief of the Academy of Agricultural Science, have been chosen as the best scientists and technicians of the state for 2020.
Certificates of the best scientists and technicians of the state for 2020 were conferred on them as they have made distinguished contributions to developing the country's economy and science and technology, remaining true to the Party's line of prioritizing science and technology with high practical ability and results. -0-
