Pyongyang, May 8 (KCNA) -- Officials and working people have achieved successes in the campaign for preserving national heritage like historical sites, scenic spots and natural monuments throughout the country in the spring months for taking care of national heritage.
Pyongyang City has changed the roof tiles of Popun Temple, Ryonggok School and Kwangbop Temple and repaired their rafters.
South Hamgyong Province concluded the improvement of the roads to the Manse Pavilion of Ryangchon Temple in Kowon County and to Ryonghung Temple in Yonggwang County and arranged their vicinity in a short period.
South Phyongan and South Hwanghae provinces and Nampho City spruced up the Anguk Temple and Kangso Temple to better their appearances as historical sites representing the excellence of the Korean nation.
Kaesong City has repaired the Koryo Museum, the Ryongthong Temple and the Sungyang Confucian Shrine in a planned way to restore their original state on the principle of historicism.
The campaign for preserving scenic spots and natural monuments is also brisk.
Good species of trees including pine-nut trees and apricot trees were planted at scenic spots and the work for arranging sanctuaries for Mayang musk deer and Mayang ferret is underway. -0-
