Pyongyang, May 12 (KCNA) -- Leading newspapers here say in editorials on Wednesday that whether the goal of this year's grain production is attained or not depends on how to do rice-transplanting.
Stressing the need to do this year's farming well in order to realize the plan and determination of the Party to bring about a decisive turn in the national economic development and improvement of the people's standard of living, Rodong Sinmun says in an editorial that it is urgently needed to concentrate all efforts and means on rice-transplanting.
All officials, Party members and other working people should turn out in rice-transplanting with determination to make a breakthrough in attaining this year's grain production goal without fail by transplanting rice seedlings at the right time and in a proper way, says the editorial, and goes on:
The agricultural workers should follow the fighting spirit of the heroic farmers in the postwar reconstruction period of the 1950s and the Chollima era, thus giving full play to their patriotic devotion in rice-transplanting.
The whole country should render positive aids to farms in terms of manpower and material.
All those involved in aiding the farms should honestly fulfill their duty from the viewpoint that they are responsible for this year's farming together with agricultural workers.
The editorial calls for making a breakthrough in hitting the grain production target this year by focusing all efforts and means on rice-transplanting and thus making a positive contribution to bringing about a bumper crop on the agricultural front, a major thrust in the socialist economic construction, in the first year for implementing the new five-year plan.
Minju Joson also underlines the need to go all out for doing rice-transplanting at the right time and in a proper way and thus open up a rosy prospect for carrying out this year's grain production plan.
