First-phase Socialist Emulation Drive in Construction of 10 000 Flats in Pyongyang Reviewed

Pyongyang, May 12 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held to review the first-phase socialist emulation drive in the construction site of 10,000 flats in Pyongyang, the major offensive front line symbolizing the new period of a great upsurge and turn in socialist construction.
According to data available, during the first-phase socialist emulation drive, ground excavation, ground concrete tamping and framework-building projects progressed successfully and achievements were made in the building of the infrastructure and facilities and leveling of land.
Political activities were brisk at the construction site to arouse enthusiasm for revolution and struggle and patriotic zeal among of soldiers and civilians involved in the project.
Solider-builders carried out in a short span of time such enormous tasks as excavation for laying soil pipes, turf-laying along the main road, ground excavation and concrete tamping.
They also achieved good results in making the frameworks of apartment buildings every day.
The brigade of the Capital City Construction Commission, the Youth Shock Brigade and the brigade of the External Construction Bureau pushed ahead with the project by introducing rational methods into construction.
Several construction units carried out their tasks earlier through a hot socialist emulation drive.
The meeting called upon the guiding officials and builders of all the units involved in the construction to successfully finish the next-stage project in the period set by the Party and at the level desired by it on the basis of the successes and experience gained in the first-phase socialist emulation drive.
