True to the idea and spirit of the Eighth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the Tenth Congress of the youth league, young people in South Hamgyong, North Hwanghae and Jagang provinces have volunteered to work in major fields of socialist construction.
Those at South Hamgyong Province petitioned to work at fruit farms, socialist countryside, February 8 Vinalon Complex, construction site of the Tanchon Power Station and fisheries sector in the province. They vowed to become vanguard and shock brigade in implementing the new five-year plan.
Students at graduating classes of Hamhung University of Chemical Industry and Hamhung University of Education appealed to send them to major national economic fronts, mountain village schools and branch schools on remote islands.
Those at graduating classes of senior middle schools in North Hwanghae Province also volunteered for labour-consuming sectors.
Among them, many young people went to the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex and Hwachon Coal Mine, and others volunteered to work at youth workteams and sub-workteams of farms.
Officials, working people, youth and students in relevant areas and units gave a warm send-off to the young people who were advancing to major fronts of socialist construction.
