Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- The coal industry sector steps up preparations for preventing damage by disastrous weather such as typhoon and flood while keeping production on a normal basis.
The Hamnam Area Coal-Mining Complex completed repairing of a retaining wall extending for hundreds of meters and river improvement in a short span of time. It installed more drainage equipment and finds out dangerous spots and takes necessary measures in a planned way.
Other coal-mining complexes finished removing sludge from settling ponds and mud from drainage canals in a short span of time while concentrating their efforts on ensuring security of electricity and communication networks. They make preparations for coping with emergency situation in a responsible manner.
They check in detail the drainage system for pits and install more pumps and drainpipes to prevent flooding.
They take a series of security measures for protecting equipment and put efforts into thoroughly ensuring the security of the already built structures. -0-
