Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- "We Are the Happiest in the World" is a popular song of the Korean people.
This song was given birth at the then Haeju school for war orphans in the 1950s.
On the occasion of the 4th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea in Juche 50 (1961), a joint concert was given by art groups of schools for the children of martyrs and primary schools for orphans in different parts of the country. President Kim Il Sung watched the performance. At that time orphans from Haeju sang in tears that the President was their father, the Party was their home and they were the happiest brothers and sisters in the world.
It was a song of ardent love never heard before and a song of happiness, most pure and beautiful in the world.
The song was an expression of gratitude to Kim Il Sung who saved the destiny of the nation through a bloody war against the Japanese imperialists and led the building of a new country and the Fatherland Liberation War to victories as the father of the country, thus providing the people with the highest glory and happiness unprecedented in the 5 000 year-long history.
This song, worth of national treasure, has been sung by the Korean people for 60 years.
This song, which reverberated across the country during the arduous march in the 1990s, continues to be sung in the great era of Kim Jong Un today.
The Korean people continue to sing this song aloud in the arduous way of going through difficulties though they suffer from shortage of many things as they value the precious experience of leading a harmonious life as family members under the care of the fatherly leader and the Party and are confident of the brighter future.
The respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un said that we should make sure this song reverberates far and wide on this land forever.
On May 6, Juche 105 (2016) when the 7th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea was opened, the song "We Are the Happiest in the World" was awarded Kim Il Sung Prize and Kim Jong Il Prize.
This was the highest praise for the Korean people's indomitable faith, with which they have firmly defended socialism chosen by them, sharing their destiny with their leader and Party. -0-
