Pyongyang, July 24 (KCNA) -- The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) made public a detailed report on the heroic struggle feats performed by the people behind the line in the spirit of hard-work and fortitude during the three-year Fatherland Liberation War. The report came on July 23, a few days leading up to the 68th anniversary of the great victory won by the Korean people in the war.

The report recalled that the Kunja-ri spirit was created by the workers in the munitions industry, an inheritance of the Yongil bomb spirit of Paektu dating back to the grim anti-Japanese war, and that dynamic campaigns for increasing food production, the volume of transport, and production of goods in the wartime and the campaign for supporting the front prevailed throughout the country.

Throughout the war period, the munitions factories in the rear never stopped operation.

The workers in Kunja-ri, cherishing the honor of making submachine guns and mortars for the first time after the liberation of the country by their own efforts and technology, created the Kunja-ri spirit replete with the spirit of self-reliance and fortitude in the underground tunnel in Mt Paekyang.

During the war they produced over three times as many arms as those before the war, making the spirit of self-reliance and fortitude run through their everyday life.

The Kunja-ri spirit with which the workers there responded to President Kim Il Sung 's call "Everything for victory in the war!" with the struggle for devoted implementation, spread to all other munitions factories.

Workers of a munitions factory performed a miracle of fighting Korea by setting up a cupola in a mountain and producing hundreds of thousands of hand grenades in over 40 days in the blizzards of winter.

Farmers, under the militant slogans set forth by the President "The struggle for food is a struggle for the country" and "Let not an inch of land lie idle and let us produce even a single grain more!" performed feats in increasing the food production in the wartime.

Wonderful successes were registered in the agricultural production year after year through the dynamic struggle for increased food production in the wartime.

The agricultural production in 1950 far exceeded that in 1948, the peak year before the war, and in 1952 the total area that had been sown showed two percent increase while the total agricultural output 13 percent rise as compared with those in 1951.

The report also covered the heroic struggle of the workers in the railway sector who ensured wartime transport despite gunfire.

Bearing in mind the militant orders of the President, they increased transport by displaying matchless patriotic devotion and bravery for war victory despite the frantic bombing by the enemies and the insidious manoeuvres by spies and saboteurs.

The whole period of the war saw a vigorous campaign to create a new level in the volume of freight carried and the distance covered.

A hero engine driver of a locomotive was produced who ran 3 400 kilometers more than the yearly running distance and hauled cargoes of 180 more freight cars than the amount assigned. Lots of innovators were also produced among whom were engine drivers who increased the fixed pulling quantity up to 200 percent.

The railway cargo transport plan for 1952 was over-fulfilled thanks to the dynamic struggle by dint of invincible fortitude, and the workers in the sector were honoured to receive a letter of thanks from the President.

Officials and workers in the railway sector redoubled their efforts and transported 96 percent more cargo for the first half of 1953 as compared with that in the same period of the previous year.

During the war, this sector witnessed the production of over 16 780 order-bearers including scores of heroes.

In hearty response to the militant call of the President to meet the demand for war supplies and daily necessities in the front and the rear, a campaign for production increase was waged as a mass emulation movement throughout the war.

In each sector of the national economy, front shock brigade movement, front workteam movement, youth workteam movement and various other mass movements were waged to inject vitality into the struggle for bringing about advance and rapid progress in the overall national economic sectors even in the difficult wartime conditions.

It is thanks to the wartime struggle for production increase waged as a mass emulation movement that a lot of factories and enterprises in the DPRK increased the production level over 1.5 times in the first period of the war as compared to that before the war and implemented the two-year plan of the national economy ahead of schedule.

The indomitable spirit was fully displayed also in the struggle to rapidly restore and readjust the economy devastated by the barbarous acts of the enemies.

The plan for the first half of 1951 was successfully carried out ahead of schedule amid the dynamic struggle of the mass emulation campaign for production increase waged in all sectors of the national economy.

The wartime emulation movement for production increase developed into an unprecedented campaign to create a new standard as the war became longer.

Amid the above-said mass movement, the first half of 1951 alone witnessed the production of 2 650 order-bearers and new norms which had been unthinkable in the peaceful period were created one after another.

Thanks to the dynamic emulation campaign for production increase the total industrial output value and trade turnover increased on a yearly basis even in the wartime conditions, and the monthly and quarterly national economic plans for 1953 were overfulfilled until July when the war ended.

While the movements for my height, vengeance-taking, "the Minchong" weapon-winning and model company were brisk on the front, the people at the rear waged an all-people campaign to support the front, which reflected their will to share the destiny with soldiers.

Civilians across the country ensured the advance of the Korean People's Army units by restoring the wrecked railway sections, bridges and roads in a self-sacrificing way, and scrambled to deliver ammunition, food and other military supplies to the front.

Their heroic support for the front was a succession of the brilliant tradition of army-people unity created by the President during the anti-Japanese armed struggle and this reliably guaranteed the victory in the war by linking up the front and the rear as one bloodline.

The detailed report stressed that the great spirit and feats of the victor generation will be immortal along with the victorious advance of the revolutionary cause of Juche whatever the situation. -0-
