The Seventh National Conference of War Veterans was grandly held before the Monument to Victory in the Fatherland Liberation War in the capital city Pyongyang on July 27.

The respected Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, was present at the conference.

Arriving at the venue of the conference, he met war veterans who have long worked at important posts of the Party, government and armed forces organs and shook hands with each of them to share warm greetings.

Amid the playing of the welcome music, Kim Jong Un came out to the rostrum of the conference together with war veterans.

The moment, the fireworks were set off and the stormy cheers for him raised.

Present at the conference were those who took part in the Fatherland Liberation War and the meritorious persons during the war, the masters of the great years.

Also on hand were service personnel of the heroic armed forces of the DPRK, university students of the new generation and teaching staff and students of the revolutionary schools.

The rostrum was taken by Choe Ryong Hae, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and First Vice-President of the State Affairs Commission and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK; Jo Yong Won, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and Secretary of the Party Central Committee; and Kim Tok Hun, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and Premier of the Cabinet of the DPRK.

The rostrum was also taken by senior officials of the Party and the government and chief secretaries of the provincial Party committees.

Also seen there were leading officials of the armed forces organs.

When the Seventh National Conference of War Veterans was declared open, the national anthem of the DPRK was solemnly played.

Kim Jong Un made a significant congratulatory speech full of passion.

When he finished his speech, stormy cheers were raised again and fireworks were set off.

Looking together with the war veterans at the Sculpture "Victory" shining in the bright night view, Kim Jong Un expressed the belief that the great spirit and will given by the V-Day July 27 will become the eternal driving force promoting the advance and development of socialist construction.

The conference came to a close with the expression of the boundless thanks to Kim Jong Un who exalts the life of the war veterans most gloriously and of the desire to support the Party Central Committee with loyalty wholeheartedly.
