Banquets were given at the People’s Palace of Culture, Okryu and Chongnyu restaurants, Pyongyang Noodles House and elsewhere on July 27 for the participants in the Seventh National Conference of War Veterans.
They were attended by Choe Ryong Hae and Kim Tok Hun, members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, and other senior Party and government officials along with war veterans.
Speeches were made at the receptions.
Saying that 68 years had passed since the unforgettable days when everyone cried and laughed with pleasure and delight while watching the fireworks of war victory, the speakers said that the word “war victory” recited by the Korean people with great pride and self-esteem is always associated with the immortal name of President Kim Il Sung and those of war veterans.
Saying that only when they are led by a great leader, can the noble feats be handed down to posterity and worthwhile lives be eternal, the speakers noted that the distinguished feats of the generation who won victory in the war are shining more brilliantly under the care of General Secretary Kim Jong Un of the WPK, who boundlessly respects, treasures and puts forward war veterans and cares so much to bestow greater glory and happiness on them.
They said that if only war veterans, personifiers and witnesses of the history of the mightiness and victory of heroic Korea, could live for a long time in good health, it would give great strength to the Party and country, adding the Korean people would steadily carry on the precious spirit and tradition of victory created by them.
