Pyongyang, August 5 (KCNA) -- Six years has passed since the start of the mass cultivation of "Aeguk" grass with high nutritive value and productivity in the DPRK.
"Aeguk" grass is a feed crop helpful to activating the stockbreeding as it contains much crude protein and sufficient amount of various microelements and its yield per hectare is very high.
According to an official of the Ministry of Agriculture, the cultivation area of this grass has been considerably expanded throughout the country and the units making profits from it on stockbreeding are growing in number.
A new method for propagation, preservation and cultivation of its sapling was established on a nationwide scale and many stockbreeding units have raised the weight ratio of domestic animals with this grass, while saving much amount of grain feed.
A brisk work is now going on in the Sepho area built into a large-scale livestock farming base, Pyongyang City, North Phyongan Province and other parts of the country to expand the "Aeguk" grass cultivation area and raise its production level and utilization rate.
The credit for the wide spread of this feed crop goes to the devoted efforts of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who has always worked heart and soul to improve the people's livelihood.
In August Juche 104 (2015), he visited a farm despite the sultry weather, saying it is laudable that the farm succeeded in cultivating a nutritious and high-yielding feed crop on an experimental basis. And he named it "Aeguk" grass.
He gave a precious teaching on widely propagating "Aeguk" grass, which is of great significance in developing the country's stockbreeding. -0-
