Pyongyang, September 14 (KCNA) -- Leading newspapers of the DPRK Tuesday in editorials say that cities and counties are the lowest-level guidance and executive units for implementing our Party's policies, local strongholds directing the rural management and local economy and powerful fortresses supporting the overall development of the country.
The work for improving the people's living standard and thus achieving the prosperity of the state by developing the local industry and rural economy is directly linked with the role of cities and counties, says Rodong Sinmun in its editorial.

The success in turning all cities and counties into independent ones capable of solving the issue of people's living by themselves and into civilized and rich ones appropriate for the image of a powerful country entirely depends upon the role of city and county leading officials.
Now, it is a top-priority task for the development of cities and counties to stabilize and improve the people's living by turning their regions into the ones for the happy life of people, developing the local economy and decisively solving the issues of food and consumer goods for the people.
It is the Party's intention to achieve the development of overall regions along with that of all sectors and units of the country simultaneously.
Innovative view and forward-looking working style and manner of city and county officials lead to the development of cities and counties and prosperity of our state.
Minju Joson says that when officials make redoubled efforts with the viewpoint that they assume full responsibility for the development of their sectors, units and regions before the Party, the decisions and instructions of the Party can be thoroughly implemented in any difficult conditions and circumstances. -0-
