The Chinese People'sAssociation for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the China-KoreaFriendship Association jointly hosted a reception in Beijing on the 17th on the occasion of the 73rd founding anniversary of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Invited to the reception were Ri Ryong Nam, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the DPRK to China, and staff members of his embassy.
Present there were the President of the Chinese People’sAssociation for Friendship with Foreign Countries and officials concerned of the International Liaison Department ofthe Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Central Military Commission of China.
Speeches were made at the reception.
The President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries said the DPRK has made a great progress in the socialist cause, overcoming all kinds of difficulties over the past 73 years. He wished the Korean people greater success in the implementation of the decisions made at the Eighth Party Congress under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea headed by General Secretary Kim Jong Un.
He affirmed his will to implement the important joint understanding made by the top leaders of the two countries in an all-round way for creditably safeguarding, consolidating and developing the China-DPRK relations, bringing welfare to the peoples of the two countries and further promoting the development of the socialist cause.
Ambassador Ri Ryong Nam said the founding of the DPRK was the birth of an independent and popular state ever known in the 5,000 year-long history of the nation and a great event of having opened up a new era of building a powerful country.
He said the Korean people are waging a vigorous struggle to carry out the first-year tasks of the 5-year plan for national economic development set forth at the Eighth Congress of the WPK under the wise leadership of the respected Kim Jong Un.
He expressed his will to make active efforts with the Chinese comrades to consolidate and develop the DPRK-China friendly and cooperative relations which have been put on a new high stage as intended by the top leaders of the two countries.
A performance was given by Chinese artistes and children at the reception.
