Pyongyang, September 24 (KCNA) -- Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and premier of the Cabinet of the DPRK, inspected the agricultural and light industrial fields.
Making rounds of various farms in South Phyongan, North and South Hwanghae provinces including those in Sukchon, Phyongwon, Hwangju, Jaeryong and Yonan counties and Sariwon City, Kim inspired the agricultural workers who are working hard to thoroughly implement the decisions of the Third Enlarged Meeting of the Political Bureau of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK which called for admirably finishing this year's farming.
He said that they should manure and cultivate crops in a responsible way to the end to increase the grain yield to the maximum, do qualitative harvesting and threshing in the right time by mobilizing all forces and means and ensuring good timing between processes, and put efforts to drying and storing grains to prevent any loss.
Noting that next year's farming preparations should be made in a foresighted way, he underscored the need to increase the areas of wheat and barley and to sow seeds and manure and cultivate the crops as required by the Juche farming method and thus uphold the Party's policy of double-cropping with the proud success of a high yield.
Learning about the production at the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill, the Pyongyang Daily Necessities Factory, the Pothonggang Footwear Factory and the Pyongyang Rayon Factory, he underscored the need to lay firm foundations to boost the production by regarding it as the lifeline and main direction to promote home production of raw materials and recycling, and to decisively increase the production of mass consumption goods.
Field consultative meetings stressed that officials in the field of agriculture should bear in mind the importance of their duty in admirably finishing this year's farming and scrupulously organize operations and command. The meetings discussed measures for the light industrial field to hold fast to reducing cost and improving quality as key points of economic management, and positively introduce advanced technologies and properly supply raw and other materials. -0-
