Pyongyang, October 15 (KCNA) -- The (DIU), a genuine communist revolutionary organization, was formed by President Kim Il Sung on October 17, Juche 15 (1926).
The DIU was the first revolutionary youth organization in Korea as it was formed with youths of the new generation aspiring after socialism and communism to achieve the national liberation and the class emancipation with the ideal of independence and sovereignty against imperialism,.
At its inaugural meeting, the President said that the formation of the DIU is a proclamation of the decisive battle for overthrowing Japanese imperialism and a declaration of showdown with all imperialism throughout the world.
After hearing his report, the members of the DIU made fervent speeches that they would devote their all to the revolution.
The President in his reminiscences "With the Century" wrote: They were virile, young talented people; they could make speeches, write treatises, compose songs and were good at self-defence.
Whenever the Korean revolution was faced with difficulties during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, members of the DIU became human weapons to find the way out.
As they left immortal feats in the glorious history of the Korean revolutionary struggle, they are still alive in the minds of the Korean people.
