Pyongyang, October 19 (KCNA) -- Universities across the country press ahead with the efforts to train more qualified scientific and technological talents who will shoulder the development of the country's economy.
Kim Il Sung University, University of Sciences, Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry, etc. set up new courses including bio-engineering and are carrying out the relevant curriculums. And they are making efforts to put those courses on a more practical, comprehensive and modern basis.
Pyongyang University of Architecture, Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering, etc. organized postgraduate classes and is increasing the number of their students.
Some faculties of several universities are turned into scientific centers for the relevant subjects and efforts are made to narrow the difference in the education levels in Pyongyang and the provinces.
Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology and University of Sciences have set the standard of a research type university and the standard of A-class discipline of our own style and turned the faculties into institutes and laboratories where the integration of education, scientific research and production have been realized. In this way those universities are pressing ahead with the work to train the students as talented personnel equipped with both theory and practice.
The universities are now conducting the work for the educational development in an innovative way after setting out the goals for training personnel of a development, creation and practice type in larger number by realizing the integration of education, scientific research and production.
