Pyongyang, October 20 (KCNA) -- The 15th enlarged plenary meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK) was held by way of video conferencing on Tuesday.
Present there were members and alternate members of the Central Committee of the UAWK.
Officials of the UAWK in Pyongyang and provinces were present as observers.
The meeting had a discussion of how to thoroughly carry out the important tasks set forth by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in his historic policy speech "On the Orientation of Present Struggle for a Fresh Development of Socialist Construction" at the 5th Session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK.
Han Jong Hyok, chairman of the Central Committee of the UAWK, made a report.
He said that the policy speech serves as an immortal militant banner instilling confidence in sure victory and courage into the hearts of all the people in their drive for a new victory of the revolution and enabling the acceleration of the overall development of our style socialist construction.
He stressed the need for all the organizations of the union to direct primary efforts into further consolidating the politico-ideological position which represents the invincible might of our Republic, true to the historic policy speech.
He called for arousing the officials and members of the union to the drive for increasing the grain production, waging brisk mass movement for raising the per hectare yield in rice, wheat and barley farming and increasing the ranks of high-yielding farms, workteams, sub-workteams and farmers.
He underlined the need for all the officials and members of the union to uphold the important tasks set forth in the administrative policy of the government of the DPRK and fulfill their duty as masters responsible for the granary of the country in the sacred struggle for a fresh development of socialist construction.
Speeches were made at the meeting.
The meeting made an in-depth study of the draft resolution and put together opinions and, based on them, adopted a relevant resolution.
