Pyongyang, October 20 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), received a message of greeting from G. A. Zhuganov, chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, on October 10.

In the message the chairman extended congratulations to Kim Jong Un and all the people of the DPRK on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the founding of the WPK, an auspicious holiday.

He also extended the sincere congratulations to Kim Jong Un on behalf of millions of communists of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, supporters and 18 communist parties under the Communist Parties-the Communist Party of the Soviet Union on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of Comrade Kim Jong Il's election as general secretary of the WPK.

The WPK was founded, enabling to unite the Korean nation in the struggle for accomplishing the gigantic cause and bring a bright future to them, the message said.

Thanks to the wise politics and experienced organizational ability of Comrade Kim Il Sung the WPK achieved victory in the national liberation struggle, occupied a full-fledged position in the international community and brought a great change in the economic and social spheres of the new-born state, the message said, and went on:

For over seven decades a great change has been witnessed in the life of the whole mankind.

The world civilization has faced a new challenge.

However, the WPK is keeping to the path of creation under your leadership.

The WPK has made signal achievements in raising its influence on the unity of the world progressive forces standing against invasion by the imperialists and loving peace, and on the development of modern history.

In the domestic political field, your party has attached importance to the work for taking good care of the working popular masses, and aroused their ingenuity and creativity.

On this significant day, the chairman in the message sincerely reaffirmed that the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and the Communist Parties-the Communist Party of the Soviet Union would keep strengthening in every way the traditions of cooperation between our two parties that have been proven in the past.

The message sincerely wished Kim Jong Un good health and happiness, and new success in his responsible work for attaining the important goals of the WPK for the well-being of people of the DPRK and the working people of the world.
