Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- The Defence Development Exhibition Self-Defence-2021 closed after running for ten days. It was opened on October 11 to mark the 76th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.

At the exhibition which was held before full houses amid the great interest of the people, the visitors keenly felt once again the irresistible strength of the dignified DPRK and its strategic position and cherished the great pride and self-confidence living and struggling in a powerful socialist country and the conviction in the future which will witness a more powerful and prosperous country.

A closing ceremony took place on Friday.

Attending it was Pak Jong Chon, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Present there were Yu Jin, department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, leading officials, scientists and technicians in the fields of defence science research and the munitions industry.

Pak Jong Chon made a closing speech.

The exhibition intensively showed the weapons prioritized by our Party and thus further consolidated the position of the DPRK as a military power of self-defense capable of coping with any types of military threats and situations in an active and powerful way, the speaker said.

At the exhibition the national defense science field and the working people of the munitions industry once again warmly felt the worth and honor in the weapons of the revolution they produced with painstaking efforts, came up with new ideas and raised their strenuous spirit and emulation passion while sharing each other's advanced experience and technologies, he said, adding this served as a valuable asset for more greatly toughening the country's military muscle and also was a major achievement made in the exhibition.

The Party's policy on national defense is a fair and just state policy that nobody can violate and the uninterrupted beefing up of the defense capability for the future is the invariable path that no force can hold in check, he said, stressing that the exhibition was a proud review of the development of the defense industry that underwent great change in the great era of Kim Jong Un and, at the same time, a start of a new forced march.

In the unstable situation in the vicinity of the Korean Peninsula, resting on one's laurels and praising oneself are the worst taboo, he said, calling for attaining at the shortest time the goals of the national defense development strategy set forth at the Eighth Party Congress with the current achievements as a springboard so as to make the military and technical strength of the country absolute and everlasting.

When the exhibition was declared closed, the song "The Glorious Motherland" was solemnly played.

All the participants were determined to make strenuous efforts to develop the state defense capability, deeply cherishing the iron truth that the security of the country, happiness of the people and eternal future for all generations to come will be guaranteed when they remain faithful to the idea and leadership of Kim Jong Un with a single mind.

The exhibition will serve as a meaningful festival that accelerated the strengthening of the defence capability of the country and a significant occasion that further propelled the overall development of our style of socialist construction as it fully showed the validity and the shining vitality of the revolutionary national defence policy of the ever-victorious WPK. -0-
