Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un , general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, received a reply message from Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and president of the People's Republic of China (PRC), on October 19.

Xi Jinping in the message expressed his heartfelt thanks to Kim Jong Un for sending a sincere and passionate message of greeting on the occasion of the 72nd founding anniversary of the PRC.

This year marks the 72nd anniversary of the foundation of new China and the 100th founding anniversary of the CPC, the message said.

It said that various nations of China have got united and made exertions under the leadership of the CPC for the past 72 years and thus registered successes of development drawing the attention of the world people.

It noted that China has accomplished the first 100-year goal of building a comprehensively well-off society before the time set and is dynamically advancing toward the second 100-year goal for building a comprehensively modern and powerful socialist country.

The message said that the two countries, PRC and DPRK, are linked by the same mountain and rivers, and the traditional friendship between the two countries is getting more solid over time.

It noted that currently, COVID-19 is still sweeping the world and the greatest change in 100 years is being witnessed in the world.

It stressed that soundly safeguarding, strengthening and developing the friendship between China and the DPRK comply with the fundamental interests of both sides and are beneficial to the stability and prosperity of the region.

Xi Jinping in the message said that he attaches great importance to the development of the China-DPRK relations and has intent to steadily propel the relations to a new stage by strengthening strategic communications, deepening the friendship and cooperation and leading them to be conducive to mutual support through joint endeavors with Kim Jong Un .

Recalling that some days ago, the Korean people celebrated the 76th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea with splendor, Xi Jinping expressed belief that the Korean people would thoroughly implement the decisions made at the 8th Congress of the WPK and surely and steadily achieve a new and greater success in the cause of socialist construction by getting united and exerting persevering efforts under the firm leadership of the Central Committee of the WPK led by Kim Jong Un .

The message wished Kim Jong Un good health and hoped that work would go on well for him.
