Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and president of the People’s Republic of China, sent on October 19 a reply message to Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK.
President Xi in the message expressed his heartfelt gratitude to General Secretary Kim Jong Un for sending an impassioned congratulatory message on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the PRC.
Saying that China and the DPRK adjoin each other with a mountain and rivers in between and the traditional bilateral friendship is getting firmer with the passage of time, he noted that successfully safeguarding, consolidating and developing the bilateral ties serve the fundamental interests of both sides and are also beneficial to the regional stability and prosperity.
He said that he attaches great importance to the development of the relations and that he is willing to uninterruptedly promote them to a new stage by making joint efforts with the WPK General Secretary to lead the countries to deepen strategic communication, bolster up friendship and cooperation and offer active support to each other.
Saying the Korean people recently celebrated the 76th anniversary of the WPK in splendour, he stressed he was convinced that they would unite and redouble efforts to thoroughly implement the decisions of the Eighth Party Congress under the firm leadership of the WPK Central Committee headed by the General Secretary and thereby continuously achieve new and greater successes in the cause of socialist construction.
