The Defence Development Exhibition "Self-Defence 2021" came to a close. It was held for 10 days after its opening on the 11th on the occasion of the 76th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The closing ceremony of the exhibition was held on the 22nd.

Present at the ceremony was Pak Jong Chon, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and Secretary of the Party Central Committee.

Also on hand were Yu Jin, Department Director of the Central Committee of the WPK, and leading officials, scientists and technicians in the fields of defence science research and munitions industry.

Pak Jong Chon made a closing address.

He said:

The recent exhibition intensively showed the real arms to which our Party attaches importance, making firmer the position of our state as a self-reliant military power that can actively and powerfully cope with any forms of military threats and situation.

At the venue of the exhibition, the defence science sector and the workers in the field of munitions industry warmly felt once again the priceless pride and honor of having manufactured the weaponry of revolution through their indefatigable struggle. They also conceived new ideas and fostered the spirit of exertion and enthusiasm for emulation while sharing the advanced experiences and technologies. It serves as a valuable asset for developing our military strength greatly once again and it is a major success achieved by the exhibition. 

Our Party's defence policy is a fair and aboveboard state policy nobody can violate. The road of strengthening the defence capability to be followed continuously and vigorously in the future too, is an unchangeable course no force can check. The recent exhibition is not only a proud summing up of the development of the national defence industry which made a great change in the great Kim Jong Un era but also the start of a new forced march.

Self-complacency and self-praise are the enemy we must take the strictest precautions against in the unstable situation around the Korean peninsula. On the basis of the already-made successes, we should attain the goals of defence development strategy presented at the Eighth Party Congress in the shortest period and thus make our state's superiority in military technology absolute and eternal one, Pak Jong Chon added.

When the exhibition was declared closed, the song "The Glorious Motherland" was solemnly played.

The Defence Development Exhibition "Self-Defence 2021", which fully demonstrated the validity and shining vitality of the revolutionary defence policy of the ever-victorious WPK, serves as a meaningful festival that further accelerated the strengthening of defence capability of the country and a significant occasion that promoted the overall development of Korean-style socialist construction more powerfully.
