Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- The enlarged plenary meeting of the Cabinet took place through video teleconferencing on Oct. 26.

Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the Cabinet, guided the meeting.

Present there were Vice-Premiers Jon Hyon Chol and Pak Jong Gun and other members of the Cabinet.

Attending it as observers were officials of institutions directly under the Cabinet and those of ministries, chairpersons of the provincial, city and county people's committees and those of institutions for agricultural guidance, and major factories and enterprises.

The meeting reviewed the implementation of the national economic plan for the third quarter of this year for carrying out the decisions made at the 2nd and the 3rd plenary meetings of the 8th Central Committee of the WPK. It also discussed the measures of thoroughly carrying out the important tasks set forth by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in his historic policy speech at the 5th Session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly and of successfully concluding this year's plan.

A report was made by Pak Jong Gun, vice-premier who is also chairman of the State Planning Commission.

The reporter said that in the third quarter all the sectors and units of the national economy have made achievements by strengthening production foundations and making scrupulous economic organization and command for increasing the production as required by the strategy of the Party for readjustment and reinforcement.

He said that to unconditionally carry out the national economic plan, which amounts to decision of the Party and law of the state, the major industrial fields and all other sectors of the national economy have effected a surge in production by putting emphasis on ensuring local production of raw materials and recycling despite unfavorable conditions and difficulties.

He cited facts to inform the participants of a series of shortcomings and deviations observed in the economic work in the third quarter, and analyzed their causes and stressed the need to decisively root out the irresponsible work style and attitude of some leading economic officials.

The reporter called for surely fulfilling the national economic plan for the first year of implementing the five-year plan on all indices through dynamic year-end economic organization and thus bringing about substantial achievements and practical changes waited for and welcomed by the people.

Speeches were made at the meeting.

The meeting discussed immediate tasks in detail to thoroughly implement the administrative policy of the DPRK government including those to tighten the production-consumption connection among key industrial fields, successfully conclude this year's farming and increase the varieties of mass consumption goods.

It adopted the decision of the Cabinet "On thoroughly carrying out the important tasks set forth by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in his historic policy speech at the 5th Session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK". -0-
