Pyongyang, November 1 (KCNA) -- Early in the 1990s, the hostile forces clamored about the "end of socialism" with the collapse of socialism in the Soviet Union and Eastern European countries as an occasion.
Under such situation, Chairman Kim Jong Il made public a celebrated work "Socialism Is a Science" on November 1, Juche 83 (1994).
In the work, the Chairman proved that Korean socialism guided by the Juche idea is the most scientific and viable socialism and gave an overall answer to the theoretical and practical problems arising in accomplishing the socialist cause.
He clarified the truth that socialism centered on the man and the popular masses is the most scientific, advantageous and powerful socialism.
The world history has known progressive views on the popular masses and socialist doctrines on human emancipation, but never such transparent political idea as the Juche-oriented view on people and people-centered philosophy that regards the popular masses as the most valuable and powerful being and the spirit of making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people as the main core.
As it thoroughly embodied the Juche-oriented view on people and people-centered philosophy, Korean socialism could develop into the most scientific and revolutionary socialism centered on the popular masses, displaying its superiority and vitality to the full.
Under Korean socialism where the people-first principle was applied, the people's needs and interests are prioritized in adopting and executing any policy of the state, all assets of the society offered for the people's wellbeing and the people allowed to enjoy a new socialist civilization.
That's why the DPRK people have absolutely supported and trusted in socialism and steadfastly defended it.
Today, Korean socialism victoriously advancing with the people-first principle is bringing a new era of great prosperity. -0-
