Pyongyang, November 5 (KCNA) -- Various economic sectors in the DPRK have conducted a vigorous mass technical innovation work to make a new leap forward in the production and construction by dint of science and technology.
Many units launched a movement for winning the Title of Model Technical Innovation Unit to develop their scientific and technological potentials and steadily improve the level of putting the production and management on a scientific basis.
This year, major industrial establishments like the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex and the February 8 Vinalon Complex introduced advanced science and technology and invented valuable technical innovations and thus contributed to putting the production on a normal basis and strengthening the material and technical foundation.
Power stations introduced new-type water turbine and digital governor with high efficiency to ensure the electric-power production on a high level, while a coal mining complex in the western part of the country markedly boosted the production by inventing an advanced hewing method.
The construction sector completed the research into prefabricated elements, thus making it possible to raise the speed and quality in building dwelling houses.
The agricultural sector, too, made new farming machines and introduced high-yielding varieties and advanced farming methods to increase the per-hectare yield.
This year alone, the number of units which won the Title of Model Technical Innovation Unit has increased more than one hundred throughout the country as against last year. -0-
