Pyongyang, November 10 (KCNA) -- The Mass Gymnastic Production Company marked its 50th founding anniversary.
President Kim Il Sung , who opened up a new era of our own-style mass gymnastics in the period of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, led the work for founding a professional creation group on November 10, Juche 60 (1971), which came to be an occasion for making mass gymnastics popular.
Chairman Kim Jong Il clarified an original idea that mass gymnastics is an art work giving a grand epical description of the lines and policies set forth by our Party and the history of struggle and exploits of our Party and people and the ranks for gymnastics, background stand and music are three main constituents of mass gymnastics.
Monumental masterpieces, ranging from "The Era of the Workers' Party" in 1961 to the Grand Mass Gymnastics and Artistic Performance "Arirang" famed as a world masterpiece in 21st century, have been successfully created and staged under the energetic guidance of Kim Jong Il all to represent the spirit, culture, might and stamina of the DPRK. Those masterpieces have enriched the cultural wealth of our state, fully displaying their vitality as a powerful weapon for sound ideological, cultural and physical edification of the people and as a special means of demonstrating the tremendous power of Juche Korea all over the world.
Under the wise leadership of the peerlessly great men, the mass gymnastics has recorded a proud history of its development as sports and cultural event demonstrating the might of single-minded unity of Juche Korea and as one of popular sports forms raising the national self-esteem and patriotic enthusiasm of our people.
A meeting took place on November 9 to mark the anniversary.
At the meeting, Ri Il Hwan, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), conveyed a congratulatory message sent by the C.C., the WPK to the creators and employees of the company greeting the 50th founding anniversary. -0-
