Pyongyang, December 7 (KCNA) -- The people of the DPRK have conducted a vigorous struggle for opening a new upsurge and transformation in the revolution, while braving out the manifold trials and difficulties in the advance of socialist construction.

Such victorious advance is attributable to the guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who implanted the philosophical principle in the mind of the people that the spirit of national independence is the life and the main foundation of the Korean revolution.

In Juche 101 (2012), the year of celebrating the 100th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Un declared that it is necessary to advance along the road of independence and socialism indicated by President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, and herein lies the eternal strategy of the Korean revolution and its final victory.

In his new year addresses, he set forth the slogans "Let us accelerate the victorious advance of socialism with the great spirit of self-reliance and self-development as the dynamic force!" and "Let us open a new road of advance for socialist construction under the uplifted banner of self-reliance!" to inject great vitality in the all-people great advance.

At the 7th and 8th Congresses of the Workers' Party of Korea, the 1st Session of the 14th DPRK Supreme People's Assembly and other important meetings, he clarified that self-reliance and self-development is the only way out and the eternal lifeline of the Korean revolution.

His fixed faith of independence and spirit of self-existence was kept in the Korean people's mind as the pillar of unshakable faith that served as a strong motive force to inspire all the people to the grand advance for prosperity by self-reliance.

He has made a ceaseless journey of field guidance to train the people to be fighters possessed of the spirit of self-reliance. Thanks to his wise guidance, the Korean people made radical progress in socialist construction while increasing their own strength to the maximum under the banner of self-reliance and self-development in the past 10 years of the new century of Juche.

Model and standard factories representing the age of knowledge-based economy and monumental edifices came into being in different parts of the country. And a new history of gold mountains, gold fields and gold seas was made.

Through the struggle of the past 10 years, the Korean people keenly felt that nothing can take the place of national self-sustenance. They are now dynamically advancing toward a new victory in socialist construction, holding aloft the banner of self-reliance and self-development.
