Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- The Academy of Coal Mining Science makes efforts to carry out the research projects of great practical significance as soon as possible like those for increasing the coal-production capacity and the proportion of the mining work done by machines.
The academy has developed prop timber binder and introduced a new propping method to maintain pits more safely.
It has also perfected an effective method with high coal-mining rate.
Researchers worked out a new design for improving the function of electric loader and made high-frequency induction heating apparatus needed for making parts of rock-drill to introduce it into coal mines. This helped shorten the time taken for making the parts and save much electricity.
It has also provided sci-tech foundations for ensuring the domestic production of the end of chisel for rock-drill.
Officials and researchers of the academy, after choosing practical subjects, work in cooperation with field engineers to make achievements conducive to the coal production. -0-
