Who Should Be Held Accountable For Human Rights Disaster?

Date: 10/12/2021 | Source: Ministry of Foreign Affairs (EN) | Read original version at source

In 1950, the United Nations designated December 10 as Human Rights Day to mark the day when the Universal Declaration of Human Rights had been adopted, and appealed for prevention of human rights violations across the world.

Many years have passed since then, but rights to life and development of thousands of millions of working people are yet being ruthlessly violated, as their living conditions are becoming ever worse, and they are living every day and every hour in uneasiness and horror, as they are facing all hues of human rights crimes such as killing, rape, and trafficking in persons which are ceaselessly committed under the continuously erupting socio-political unrest in all parts of the world.

Then who is the main culprit behind this miserable human rights situation?

Undisputedly, they are the United States and the West who are mocking the world by pretending to be “advanced states in the field of human rights” while covering their own appalling human rights plight.

A number of jobless and homeless people are wandering the streets and begging for alms in freezing winter cold.

In the U.S. where “Statue of Liberty” holds a commanding position, the richest 10% own almost all national assets and shares, while the popular masses are being compelled to live the life below poverty line, but such pitiable plight is praised as “advanced human rights” or “standard of democracy.”

With the complete withering of basic conscience and ethics which underpin the human society, rifles have emerged as a unique means of interpersonal communication, and people are busy photographing women who are suffering from sexual assault instead of helping them, and the criminals in police uniforms are “arresting” innocent people and imposing summary execution on the spot. Such a society afflicted with immorality and depravity and the manslaughter system are being dramatized as a model of “universal respect for human rights.”

Whereas violating human rights is a serious crime, camouflaging and justifying human rights violations are yet more serious one.

It cannot be accepted merely as a boast that the U.S. and the West are posing as “beacon of human rights” in front of the world. It is in fact a declaration of human rights violation that they will make the world a vast human rights wasteland like theirs.

It is evidenced by the history that such declarations invited indescribable human rights disasters, all being caused by the U.S. and the West which behave as “protector of human rights” and abuse “human rights issues” as a means for interference and aggression.

Poverty rate of the nation is 72%; more than half of under-5 children are at the state of severe malnutrition; the number of civilians killed by the American and Western troops amounts to over 470,000 etc.

These statistics are a reflection of the miserable reality of Afghanistan, which resulted from the bombardment of “protection of human rights” and “counter-terrorism” by the U.S. and the West.

As an American soldier has confessed that the drone assaults by the American troops on this country were merely for killing purposes, the arbitrary designation as “terrorist states” and the killing of peoples of those countries by the U.S. and the West under the signboard of “human rights” are not for “protecting human rights” under any circumstances.

Under the glittering signboard of “democracy” and “protection of human rights”, innocent people were subjected to the illegal fire torture, sexual abuse, forced feeding and even experiment on their live bodies in dark secretive prisons, and the refugees fell down to death by the whipping and water torture. They all cry out that the U.S. and the West are the archenemies of humankind and that they are the ones who should be subjected to severe punishment of history.

It is crystal clear therefore that any further tolerance to the high-handedness and arbitrariness of the U.S. and the West which have been disqualified even to speak about human rights would bring greater human rights disasters.

“Human rights issue” upheld by the U.S. and the West whenever they pick on others means interference, and “protection of human rights” means aggression. These are the jargons favored by the dominationists, which humankind has come to learn through the actual realities.

International society should squarely discern as to who should be held accountable for the terrible disasters of human rights suffered now by humankind, and put zero tolerance to the attempts of the U.S. and the West to turn the whole world into a wild theatre of crushing the human rights.
