Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- The 18th Plenary Meeting of the 14th Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly (SPA) of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) was held at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on Dec. 14.

Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the SPA Standing Committee, presided over the plenary meeting.

It was attended by Kang Yun Sok and Pak Yong Il, vice-chairmen of the SPA Standing Committee, its Secretary General Ko Kil Son and members of the SPA Standing Committee.

Present there as observers were officials concerned of the SPA Standing Committee, the Secretariat of the Cabinet, ministries and national institutions.

Placed on the agenda were the issue concerning the convention of a session of the SPA of the DPRK and the issue of adopting the law on offshore and river transport, the law on construction design and the law on property execution.

First, a decision of the Standing Committee of the SPA on convening the 6th Session of the 14th SPA of the DPRK was adopted with unanimous approval.

Then a report was made on the gist of the said laws.

The law on offshore and river transport stipulates the principled issues to be kept in relevant sectors in order to put ship transport, wharf construction and ship lane control on a modern, IT and scientific basis and intensify the guidance and control over them, and to meet the demand for transport in national economy and ensure the people's convenience in traffic use.

The law on construction design reflects the legal demand for making the drawing up, examination and approval of construction design contribute to the development of the national economy and the improvement of the people's standard of living in line with the construction policy of the state and for putting design on a higher scientific level.

The law on property execution stipulates in detail the issues for ensuring the rights and interests of organs, enterprises, organizations and citizens in terms of civil affairs by establishing system and order in executing judgment, finding, arbitration and decision of property, and for the application for property execution, the issuance of execution clause, procedure, method and legal responsibility.

The plenary meeting studied and examined the presented draft laws and adopted the law of the DPRK on offshore and river transport, the law of the DPRK on construction design and the law of the DPRK on property execution as decrees of the SPA Standing Committee. -0-
