Kim Jong Il Held in DPRK Pyongyang, December 18 (KCNA) -- Memorial services for Chairman Kim Jong Il took place in every province, city (district) and county of the DPRK on Friday, the 10th anniversary of his demise.
Attending them were officials of local party and power organs, working people's organizations, industrial establishments, farms, universities and other units and working people of all social strata and youth and students.
The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of the Chairman with deep reverence for him.
Memorial addresses were given at the services.
Speakers expressed the highest respects to Kim Jong Il with boundless yearning and intense loyalty, saying that they are looking back upon the sacred revolutionary career and immortal revolutionary exploits of Kim Jong Il who devoted his life to the prosperity of the country and the happiness of the people on the occasion of the greatest memorial day of the nation.
They said that for the last decade they have keenly realized how great and valuable the revolutionary exploits performed by the Chairman for the country and nation are, and more deeply cherished the high national pride and dignity of holding him in high esteem as the eternal leader of the Party and the revolution.
They stressed that the beaming images of President
Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il would be always kept in the hearts of the people no matter how much water may flow under the bridge and no matter how frequently a generation is replaced by another.
The speakers called on the officials, Party members and working people to devotedly implement the instructions of the Chairman and go all out for implementing the decisions made at the historic 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea, true to the idea and leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
