Pyongyang, December 22 (KCNA) -- The General Association of Koreans in China and its affiliated organizations held memorial services for Chairman Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of his demise.
Officials of the General Association and citizens in Shenyang laid a floral basket and paid tribute before the art work depicting the images of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il at the DPRK Consulate General in Shenyang.
The Zhongnan Regional Association of the General Association placed a floral basket before the portrait of smiling Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il at the DPRK embassy in Beijing.
A memorial service by the General Association of Koreans in China took place in Shenyang on Dec. 17.
Attending it were First Vice-Chairman Choe Su Bong and officials of the General Association, members of the Federation of Korean Economic Workers in China and the Association of Young Korean Nationals in China, officials of branches of the Liaoning Province Regional Association, citizens of Shenyang and Dandong and compatriots. Members of the DPRK Consulate General in Shenyang were also present.
The participants paid a silent tribute to the memory of Kim Jong Il.
Choe Su Bong said in a memorial address that Kim Jong Il was a peerless patriot and benevolent father of the people in the homeland and overseas compatriots who recorded the whole course of revolutionary struggle with his ardent love and noble dedication to the country and the people.
A letter to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was adopted at the memorial service.
Memorial services were also held by affiliated organizations of the General Association, including the Yanbian Regional Association, the Mudanjiang Regional Association, the Jilin Province Regional Association and the Shanghai Municipal Branch of the Zhongnan Regional Association.
