Pyongyang, December 23 (KCNA) -- Memorial meetings, seminars and film shows were held by political parties and social organizations of Russia on Dec. 10-16 to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the demise of Chairman Kim Jong Il.
A Korean film on the exploits of the Chairman for developing the DPRK-Russia friendly relations was screened at the film shows.
Speeches were made at the events attended by political and social personages and other people.
The first secretary of the Khabarovsk Territorial Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation said at a memorial meeting that the greatest of Kim Jong Il's feats was that he defended the destiny of socialism from the imperialists' moves, put the DPRK on the position of a politico-ideological power and military power and provided a solid springboard for building a powerful socialist nation.
The chairperson of the Party for Peace and Unity of Russia and other speakers praised Kim Jong Il as a great man who cemented a harmonious whole of the Party and the people and performed gigantic feats in developing socialist Korea with his superb leadership.
Meanwhile, a floral basket was laid with due ceremony before the portraits of smiling President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il at a school in the city of Khabarovsk.
