Pyongyang, January 12 (KCNA) -- A meeting of workers and members of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK) took place at the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex on Tuesday to vow to carry through the decisions made at the 4th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee.
Present there were trade union officials in Pyongyang and provinces, officials concerned and officials, workers and trade union members of the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex.
Pak In Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the GFTUK, said in his report that the important conclusion and historic report made by General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea Kim Jong Un at the plenary meeting serve as a militant banner giving inexhaustible strength and courage to all the workers and trade union members out in the struggle for building a socialist paradise on this land.
The reporter said that facing the workers and trade union members are heavy yet honorable tasks for providing a firm guarantee for fulfilling the five-year plan and bringing about a marked change in the development of the country and the improvement of the people's living standard by further accelerating the all-people grand drive for the overall development of socialist construction.
He called upon the workers and trade union members to fully demonstrate the mettle of the vanguard unit taking the lead in ushering in a fresh period of development in socialist construction by waging a fierce campaign for creation and innovation.
Saying that a sure victory is in store for their struggle as they are led by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , he appealed to all the officials, workers and trade union members to wage a dynamic struggle for crowning this year with a new victory, following the path indicated by the 4th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee.
Oath-taking speeches were made at the meeting.
The speakers expressed their determination to make ceaseless innovations and progress in this year's grand struggle, demonstrating the indomitable mettle of the heroic working class like the preceding generations who devotedly defended the Party under the uplifted banner of self-reliance.
A letter of pledge to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting. -0-
