Pyongyang, January 12 (KCNA) -- True to the idea and spirit of the 4th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), officials in key industrial sectors of the DPRK study and discuss the ways for implementing the tasks set forth at the plenary meeting.
Officials in metal and chemical industries have intensified their discussion on constructive opinions for firmly consolidating the twin pillars of the self-supporting economy.
They are mapping out a detailed operation to decisively raise the level of independence and modernization while analyzing the successes, experience and lessons gained and drawn in the last year's campaign, true to the idea of the plenary meeting.
They also pool their creativity and wisdom in taking technical measures to give precedence to the development of their sectors with recourse to advanced science and technology and to fulfill the ten-day, monthly and quarterly plans for this year.
Those in the electric power and coal industrial sectors are deepening the discussion on practical issues for waging an intensive campaign for increased production this year, too, by expanding the successes and experience gained in ensuring the supply of power for the national economy to develop the overall economy with the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance and strenuous efforts.
Those in the railway transport sector focus their study and discussion on enhancing the security of railway, accelerating its modernization and establishing the state's unified control system for the overall transport so as to develop the country's transport stage by stage.
Those in the machine-building industrial sector outline the practical measures through an in-depth discussion on the issue of responsibly providing equipment needed for readjustment and reinforcement of different economic sectors and units and of boosting the production of vehicles, electric machines and construction machines and improving their quality.
Officials of the key industrial sectors meticulously organize the economic plans based on the new guidelines for the prosperity of the country advanced by the Party Central Committee.
